Name Ideas?

I'm just curious what you all have rolling around in your heads. Feel free to add a comment to this post with your idea of a name for the boy. I can tell you that we already have our favorites, but I want to see your ideas. I promise that I won't steal any, unless it's already in the favorite list. Sorry. Check back to see what other people are thinking. And before anyone suggests it, I already suggested "Sue" and Sarah kind of liked it. Anyway, hope all is well. Let's hear those ideas!!!

We have BOY parts, people!!!!

Picture you're looking at it, up from the bottom of a glass table. I swear it's bigger than Dennis' (Brother-in-law).

Sarah and I had our "sex" scan yesterday. I was nervous, while Sarah has always known what sex the baby was going to be. She has told me and others for months that it's a little boy. We both would have been happy with healthy. I don't think it would have mattered to us either way. It's a lot more exciting now when we go to Babies'R'us, since now we can look specifically at boy stuff!!! During the scan, the sono tech. showed us a full bladder, which means there is kidney function. We saw a full stomach, which means he knows how to swallow. We also saw the four chambers of the heart. The only thing we didn't really see was the face. He was being shy. My mother, who is one of the smartest people I know about medical stuff, asked the tech. if the baby was turning away from a bright light, even though I know she knows that the sonogram machinge works using sound waves to get the picture and has no light at all. It was a classic "Here's your sign" moment!

After the scan, it seemed like everyone from the Doc, the sonogram tech., the nurse practitioner, and my mom were all fishing for possible names, so far these lips are sealed. I know that I am more relax now that we know. Whew...

Here is a partial glimpse of his face. He just likes that spot, probably for warmth. I will admit, it is nice to have a personal heater (Sarah) this winter. Check back when you can for more updates and pictures. I promise to keep this updated for y'all!

Babies'R'us

Soooooooo, we went to the giant baby store the other day for the first time and really considered non-sex specific items for the baby. Sarah said I had way too much fun doing this. We picked out the bedding, a crib, a dresser, and some other piece of furniture that I don't really understand its purpose.... Anyway, we both practiced with strollers that we thought we might like. We settled on the one that was the most "idiot-proof". It's only got like three buttons. One to take the baby carrier off the stroller, one to move the handle to tall person or short person heights, and one to collapse it down. I think here, less is more. Anyway, that's about it. I couldn't sell her on the crib mattress that vibrated, I don't know why...

Oh yeah, we also entered the lottery to buy Opening Day tickets to watch the KC Royals spank the NY Yankees.

We got movement, people!!!

Sarah has been feeling the baby move for a little bit now, but I finally felt the kid moving last night and again this morning. I guess this is about the time I'm supposed to be able to feel that. I've read so many books and websites that the information and time tables are starting to run together. Anyway, it was pretty cool to feel this little life moving around. Can you tell I'm excited? Dad tells a story about me when I was still in utero. They were sleeping and mom's belly was up against dad and I kicked him awake. When he turned around to see what mom wanted she was still asleep. I hope the kid doesn't start keeping me up before it's even here. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. Check back in a week or so, after the 15th.

Our first baby

Not really our first, since we have the two baby dogs, but you get the point. Things have been getting pretty exciting lately. Next friday, the 15th, Sarah and I get to go to the doctor for our "sex" scan of her belly. We are coming up on 5 months pretty soon at the beginning of March. We are definitely going to find out what the sex is of the kid. I've pretty much come to the decision that all I want is a healthy baby. Boy, girl, makes no difference to us. Sarah thinks it's a boy. I have no idea. Always have had the feeling that when we finally are finished with children, be it 3, 4, or maybe 5 (Pure wishful thinking, I'll be happy with whatever Sarah decides here, *cough*, one), that they'll all be girls. Who knows? I know we are both really excited to find out!
